Math Club

2024 -25 Math Club leaders, Edited by Isha Talpade

Math Club provides a space for students to solve and collaborate on math problems while exploring math in fun and unique ways as opposed to what can be found in the traditional classroom dynamic. Whether it is by delving into probability through a game of Otrio or Reversi, competing in heated math meme creation competitions, or making a halloween-themed tessellation, Math Club offers a variety of interesting activities to play with math in a casual and social setting! Led by Caroline Hand, Kayla Peng, and Hayden Mulligan, Math Club aims to create a dynamic space where students interested in mathematics can come together to delve into mathematical concepts that they normally wouldn’t see in their regular courses. A key aspect of math club as a STEM piece of KPS is the goal of inspiring students to pursue careers in STEM fields by breaking gender stereotypes. By making math more welcoming, we hope to gain the interest of students at Kent Place by showing them that math doesn’t always have to be boring and difficult, and it can be a useful skill in daily life.
