Ms. Murphy’s Weekly Announcements: here
Dr. Galambos
The midpoint of the school year is upon us, so I have decided to start offering office hours to students alongside faculty. Office hours will be offered during Tuesday afternoons in the Head’s Study and Friday afternoons in the Mabie House. Visit this Calendly link to schedule an appointment if you have any concerns you would like to share with me.
Mr. Weathersby
The Scholastic Visual Arts Competition awards have been released, and I would like to commend a few members of the Upper School for their achievements. Sophie W. was awarded an honorable mention, Josh Z. was awarded 4 silver keys along with 3 gold keys, and he will be representing our region nationally! Congratulations to all participating students.
Dr. Tsemo
I would like to congratulate students for their achievements in the Scholastic Writing Competition! Gabrielle L. was awarded an honorable mention, Kayla P. received an honorable, and Maya L. obtained 2 gold keys.
KPS x Delbarton Alliance
The postponed date for the MLK forum has been set to this Friday, Feb 3 from 6-8pm! There will be food, activities, and fun contests, so please be sure to come out and join us! Please fill out this form if you intend on attending so that we can get an accurate headcount.
Ethics Bowl Team
We have our regional competition this upcoming Saturday, February 4! If you see an Ethics Bowl team member in the hallways, be sure to give them some encouragement!
Community Service Committee
Exciting news- the annual Chocolate Hearts sale is officially underway! You can find our signup table in the tiled area next to the Great Room, and we will have a committee member there at all times to help you out. Remember, each heart costs $2 and proceeds are going to the Poltava Strong Foundation, a nonprofit organization that sends supplies to children and soldiers in Ukraine.
Student Affairs
On Thursday, February 2, we’ll be celebrating Groundhog Day in a special way! If you think there will be six more weeks of winter, come to school bundled up in winter wear. If you think spring is coming soon, wear a spring outfit. Student Affairs representatives will tally up the number of students dressed up per grade, and the grade with the most participation will get first dibs on a special prize during advisory next week!
Lit Loose
Get excited- our third Lit Loose meeting of the year is going to be held on Friday, Feb 3! We will be discussing The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. The meeting will be in the library study rooms. If you want pizza at the meeting, please bring $2. Hope to see all of you there!
Mr. Thornhill
Kudos to Skylar L., who was recently selected for the all-state orchestra!
